Add a vest to your look!
Vests are a great way to add a layer of warmth and interest to any outfit and this season the olive drab and camo vests are spot on trend. They can be worn with a variety of ensembles ranging from ultra-casual, like the outfit I’m wearing below, to topping it over a lace dress. This season is all about mixing of patterns and textures that you wouldn’t normally think of pairing together.

For this look, I started with a basic long-sleeved, black and white striped T-shirt that was under $11. The jeans were another steal for under $20. I topped the T-shirt with the camo vest from Forever 21, which again was under $20. This is an outfit that can also be worn with a pair of pointed toe black or nude flats or heels. Another fun option is to wear a pair of leopard shoes if you really want to spice it up. This is a great look to play around with since you can take it from really casual to a night out. I’ve added an extra statement with a mixed chain necklace to complete the look.
Mix it up!
Remember when we talked about mixing and matching fabric textures and patterns? Well the camo vest just happens to be one of those versatile wardrobe staples that can really be mixed and matched with a variety of tops you probably already have in your closet. Take a bright T-shirt or even a pair of floral skinny jeans. It doesn’t seem like a great match but go ahead and give it a whirl! It translates to casual meets fab.
An olive drab vest like this will certainly go a long way in your wardrobe and it’s one of those effortless wardrobe staples that can be worn in a variety of ways. Think sparkly skirts for a holiday party worn with a basic white blouse then top with a vest. Layer up those wrists with a few fabulous bracelets to give your look a statement or throw on a pair of animal print pumps to give your look a little wow factor. It’s those unexpected combinations that will grab attention, in a good way.
