Top 10 new toys for toddlers

In Kids, Toys by Nicole Yontz1 Comment

One of the hardest ages to buy for when it comes to toys is toddlers. Too little for Barbies and LEGOS, but too big and smart for rattles and stuffed animals. Thankfully, we’ve really seen a push recently in great toys geared specifically for this age range. So if you’re looking for your own little one, or a gift for a friend, here is the best of the best in new toys for curious toddlers.

Top 10 toys for toddlers

1. Fisher-Price Bright Beats Dance andMove BeatBo

The Fisher Fisher-Price Bright Beats Dance and Move Beatbo just recently won the 2016 TOTY (Toy Of The Year) for good reason. Letters, numbers, or just a great groove to dance to, the BeatBo has it all. Even record your own voice that BeatBo will play back mixed with DJ-quality flair. Lights and colors keep toddlers engaged and entertained, and for parents: adjustable volume control. Keep your eyes open for new additions to the BeatBo family including a stuffed BeatBo and a Learnin’ Lights Dance Mat, all new for 2016.

2. Fisher-Price Bright Beats Smart Touch Play Space

For kids ages 6-months and up, the Fisher-Price Bright Beats Smart Touch Play Space is a highly interactive toy that has everything your toddler needs to learn cause-and-effect through music and the really cool touch sensitive light bar. Whether your child is sitting, cruising or walking, she will have a ball learning her colors, numbers and ABC’s while strengthening motor skills and stimulating the senses.

An adorable new take on an old favorite, the Skip Hop Explore & More Rolling Owl Push Toy  encourages new walkers to stay on those feet and follow their new friend. With a belly full of beads, this wobbly little owl makes a tumbling little rainfall sound with nothing but baby power!

5. LeapFrog My Pal Scout or Violet

Hands down, one of my favorite toys (and go-to first birthday gifts) is the Leap Frog My Pal Scout or Violet. What looks like a soft and cuddly pup is actually a genius interactive learning toy that kids will play with for years to come. Scout or Violet can be fully personalized with favorite foods, colors, songs and names. Connect to your computer for up to 30 programmable lullabies to choose from. Soon your toddler will be just a paw press away from sweet music, learning songs, and games.

6. V-Tech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone

For the chatterbox that’s always stealing your smartphone is the V-Tech Touch and Swipe Baby Phone. With a real interactive touchscreen face, this play phone offers 12 “apps,” two different screens, 15 different melodies/phrases/singalongs, and enough fun that you might actually get your own phone all to yourself again.

The Treetop Adventure by Manhattan Toys is a 100% wooden tabletop toy. No lights or sounds, and no batteries required — just good old fashion play time with this adorable tree-themed wooden toy. 8. Bright Starts Having a Ball Spin And Slide Ball Popper

There are some toys that kids love and then there are toys that every child who walks into your home will instantly gravitate to, the Bright Starts Having A Ball Spin And Slide Ball Popper is definitely in the latter category. With two ways to play, and lights and sounds galore, your toddler will have a ball for hours exploring all there is to do with this toy.

9. V-Tech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Park and Learn Deluxe Garage Set

Some of my favorite toys are ones that you can build to grow with your child and the V-Tech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Park & Learn Deluxe Garage Set fits in that category. Special cars used in this set will trip sensors that light up and play music when driven over. Build an entire city by adding other sets like an airport, fire house, zoo and more!

10. Fisher-Price Little People See n’ Say Farmer Eddie Says

Not many toys stand the test of time generation after generation which is why we love the Fisher-Price Little People See n’ Say Farmer Eddie Says. This revamped version of an old favorite teaches cause and effect while introducing animal sounds and names.
