The Spa at Terranea

Even though Mother’s Day is over, it doesn’t mean that we won’t need a little R&R sometime in the near future. So, if you’re up for another spa day with the girls, be sure to check out The Spa at Terranea Resort for some serious pampering. This gorgeous site is situated on 102 acres of coastline overlooking the Palos Verdes Peninsula just a half hour outside of Los Angeles. The views and the service are unreal.

We were lucky enough to stay overnight at the hotel, and this was our view. Ah-mazing.

The best part? You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to experience the wonders of this spa, which has 35 posh treatment rooms and 3 VIP suites for larger parties. Indulge in an array of holistic treatments for body and face: some traditional, and others inspired by Terranea’s unique coastal locale. Plunge into the outdoor pool, work out in the expansive gym or achieve balance with a restorative yoga class.

And, if you’re planning a couple’s massage, you’ll be in for an amazing treat. The rooms provide a spectacular ocean view, complete with a glimpse of the Channel Islands. You can hear the crashing of the waves in the distance as you are kneaded back into shape.

Check in early so you have a chance to take advantage of the steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and cold plunge. If you’re hungry before or after your treatment, peruse the Spa Café’s large menu of organic offerings. The smoothies are highly recommended.

Imagine if you will, sitting poolside after the Terranea signature massage with a glass of champagne in hand.  You stare off into the distance and

spot a pod of pilot whales. This happened to me when I went there a few months back. Not a joke. It was like paradise.

Visit Terranea’s website to book an appointment and check out all of the services available.

Moms, how do you splurge on yourselves?

My three year old maxin’ and relaxin’ at the hotel’s family pool, which we hit right after the spa.
