Burke Williams gives me a facial to remember

My first fancy spa experience was at Burke Williams, Santa Monica way back in the day…I remember it like it was yesterday.  I was a spa virgin and well, Burke WIlliams made me feel like I had died and gone to heaven.  Fast forward about 12 years and I have been to more spa’s than I care to admit, but a girl never forgets her first!

It has been a few years since I stepped into a Burke Williams so I was excited to see if it was just as I remembered it.   Yup, it took a whole 2 minutes for me to get into that spa state of mind.   I was given a short tour the entire spa, which includes a sauna, steam room, lockers, quiet room, waiting area and jacuzzi.  This is a European spa so swimsuits are optional, just so you know.  I made my way directly into the jacuzzi to sit back and relax.  The spa attendants provide cucumbers for your eyes and their signature, fresh mint towels.   Ahhhh!  It’s amazing what that small little towel does to your senses. (I can almost smell the mint as I write this)

I had the Hot Stone Massage first and it was lovely.  The warm stones felt so good being rubbed on my skin and pressed against my muscles,  it really helped with my sore leg muscles since I’ve been training for a half marathon.   Hot stone massages are more for relaxation, the circular motion of  the stones being worked into your muscles increases flexibility, stimulates circulation, and promotes relaxation.   I think I even dozed off a bit, because it was so relaxing.  If you are used to deep tissue this may not be one for you, but if looking for a lighter massage or just a nice way to soothe your muscles then this massage will be perfect.

After my massage I had the 4-Layer  Resurfacing Facial and I have to say this was incredible!  Actually, it might have been one of my favorite facials EVER.  I know that is a bold statement, but it was really, really good!  Everything she used on my face smelled sooo good,  I remember one of the items was a pumkin scrub and then it was like my face was a fruit salad.  They use pineapple and papaya enzymes combined with beneficial acids to help erase fine lines and minimize imperfections.  The last layer was a strawberry rhubarb masque.  It felt like strawberry buttercream frosting was being put on my face, I wanted to lick it!  When I got home it felt like I literally had a new face.

My entire experience at Burke Williams was delightful, I mean I kinda knew that it would be;) Why can’t everyday be a burke Williams spa day?   I keep thinking about how I can strategically buy a membership and make it a business expense….because you can buy a  Burke Williams Membership for as low as $79 a month and reap all the rewards of the spa amenities and it includes a Pure Relaxation Massage every month.  Now that is a membership I would use, and probably abuse!

Disclosure:  I was asked to review the spa services at Burke Williams and I do it all for you!  My savvy thoughts and sassy opinions are my own.

  1. I was wondering if you had saw results from the facial? I usually get chemical peels and am looking for a similar effect.
