Summertime Birthday Party Themes Made Easy

In Kids by Christina Montoya Fiedler1 Comment

Themed birthday parties are a ton of fun, but it can be difficult to come up with a concept from beginning to end when you’re doing it last minute. My son’s birthday is just a month and a half away, and I’m scrambling for ideas.  My husband and I are not the kind of parent’s who start such research in advance. We like to leave things to chance, and play by the seat of our pants. This makes life interesting, as does a soon to be four-year-old who is very excited at the idea of a party with goodie bags, games, friends and cake. So, not wanting to disappoint, I’ve turned to likes of Pinterest for several birthday party themes that are sure to please.

Pirate Paaaarty

Let little swashbucklers revel in pirate themed goodie bags, treats, tricks and more. The decorated food table brings the nautical theme together.

Super Hero Hype

Get your little caped crusader excited about the big day with this super hero themed party complete with masks, crime fighting photo ops, and towering cakes.

Camping Gone Wild

If you can’t go camping, why not bring the fun indoors. This unique idea is bound to leave an impression. Indoor teepees, and a faux fire pit bring all the fun of the outdoors into an air-conditioned environment. Perfect for summer birthdays! Pass some s’more cake please!

Hungry Caterpillar Fun

School might be out for the summer, but you can still enjoy one of childhood’s most beloved stories through a colorful birthday party spread inspired by the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Decorations are easy to create, yet make a big impact.

Sock It Too Me

If I were a kid, I’d go bananas for this themed party. The iconic sock monkey is the inspiration behind the color coordinated décor, and super tasty snacks.

Moms, what are your favorite birthday party themes?

  1. LOVE these ideas three of my kids are born in July. And I have to find boy/girl themes for the twins. This year I persuaded them to do pirates and mermaids! So the pirate ship table is right up my alley!
