Spring your little ones into style!

Spring is here or will be in your neck of the woods soon enough. It’s time to spring into action and start thinking of the necessities that your little ones will need as the warm weather approaches.   You’ll want them to run around barefoot and fancy free. When I look for clothing for my children I try to look for key pieces that will wear well and be just a little more unique.

One easy way to embrace spring fashion without even spending  a dime is with cut-off shorts.   You can take your children’s jeans that are worn through knees and cut off the legs to make denim bermuda’s for your stylin’ child.

Savvy Sewing Tip:
I have serged off below the knee on worn out denim with a contrasting hot pink thread for girls, so they can roll them up or wear them a little long and they look savvy and sassy either way.

But when you are looking for a few looks that are on-trend to spice up your child’s wardrobe, ideas are good. So I have pulled together a few outfit ideas for inspiration.  These are sure to have your  kids looking very savvy sassy,  kid-style!

These boys looks can be transformed into a summer look by changing out the pant for a cargo short. I prefer the longer cargo short that hits below the knee just a little.

These girls looks go easily from spring to summer with leggings or socks to keep little legs warm in cooler spring weather and shorts for warmer months.

What are your go-to items for spring? Do you like the laid back feel of denim or do you lean a little more towards hamptons-like chino’s with docksiders?
