Two cute spring looks using Jessica Simpson Maternity wear!

When it comes to clothes shopping, I am not the easiest to please. Being a very petite woman with very particular likes and dislikes makes shopping interesting, to say the least. Add in a pregnant belly, and things can get much more tricky. I find that a lot of maternity clothes can give you a dowdy effect (not something women are looking to achieve during their pregnancy!), or make you look much larger than you really are. I’ve tried on several different styles of maternity tops, dresses and pants and have been left feeling unimpressed and like I look like I’m pregnant with ten babies.

During pregnancy, you want your clothing to flatter your changing body as much as possible, not highlight all of those awkward issues you may be having. I personally want to look feminine and beautiful (maybe even glowing, if I’m lucky!), and after trying a few tops from Jessica Simpson’s maternity line, that is exactly how I felt. The tops flattered my baby bump and my body shape well, and I was happy to see that both a more form-fitting shirt and a flowy shirt could achieve that.

The blue top that I’m wearing in the left hand picture has been one of my go-to everyday tops. I love the vibrant colour of the shirt (bright blue is still very much on-trend!), and it can be accessorized very easily (as I did in the picture with a white cardigan, skinny jeans and wedges). This shirt has side ruching which helps to accentuate your waist area, and I love the boatneck neckline. It’s also SO comfortable, making it a really easy piece to wear. I could see this also being worn with a cute skirt and gladiator sandals or even a pair of leggings and flats. It is a very versatile top.

I was wary of the floral top when I first laid eyes on it because of how flowy it is. I am so small that I tend to get lost in all of the material of flowy shirts, but I was happily surprised at how nicely this top fit when I tried it on. It is very feminine and light-weight, which is perfect for the warmer spring and summer weather. I added a slim brown belt for a little extra oomph, plus some brightly coloured bracelets. I received so many compliments on this top and amazement at how perfectly it fit me (doesn’t happen very often). This top can be dressed up for work or a night out with a skirt and heels, or dressed down as I did with a pair of jeans for a breezy daytime look.

Jessica Simpson has this maternity-wear skeptic turned into a believer! There are maternity lines out there that can be amazingly flattering, and the Jessica Simpson Maternity line is one of them. If you’re looking for some easy-to-wear and stylish maternity clothes, you must take a look at the collection.
