Recently the girls at Savvy Sassy Moms were inspired by this fabulous Lucy Leather Maternity Jacket by Isabella Oliver worn by pregnant actress Malin Akerman. Now as much as we love it, it does comes with a hefty price tag so we set out to find this look for less for our amazing Savvy Sassy readers. Plus the jacket is made by Isabella Oliver which is a maternity company, so let’s find one for the rest of us non-pregnant ladies.

Look For Less!

We’ll save the best for last…but the base of this fabulously edgy and  chic outfit starts with an asymmetrical lap nude chiffon blouse worn with a pair of basic black leggings.  Riding boots are still a huge part of the current trend and sometimes can be priced a little high so we were thrilled to find these brown buckled leather boots for a very reasonable price. We were able to find a subtle snake skin print scarf by Mossimo at Target for a steal of a deal at $14.99, not a bad price.  For the bag we’ve chosen a Fiorelli black shopper bag similar to the one that Malin Akerman is carrying and of course an inexpensive pair of wayfarer sunglasses.

Now last but certainly not least the jacket that we were all lusting over, though not exactly the same it still carries some of the main characteristics of the Isabella Oliver jacket, it’s just a little more edgy. It has a similar collar and cropped waist line which if worn open will be very reminiscent of this fabulous look for a fraction of the price.

Are you willing to join in on the leather or faux leather jacket trend?

  1. My thighs said I’m not allowed to wear leggings as pants, but I don’t mind rocking a black legging jean. I need more material up in here! Cute look for sure!

  2. I hear you. I have black skinny jeans that I wear too. Also, when I see women wearing leggings without a long shirt to cover up their butt, I cringe. “Leggings are not pants” Tim Gunn
