There is no better way to help a mom-to-be celebrate the arrival of her baby than to shower her with a party full of gifts. We love our friend so of course we’ll throw her a shower but sometimes the planning process can become a little overwhelming. Here are a few simple ideas to help you put together a beautiful and inexpensive day for your favorite mom-to-be.
It all begins with the baby shower invitation. Often times you can find entire packages to go along with your invitation theme that will include a banner, cupcake toppers, thank you’s and menu place cards. Grab this package; easy and stress-free. This purchase will literally bring your party to life. One of my favorite resources is Etsy.
I like to add stripe or polka dot straws in the party’s theme color, it’s such a simple addition that will take your party to the next level of cuteness. Another fun element is using picture frames in the theme color to frame the menu or add some maternity pictures of mom at the gift table. Afterwards give them to the mom-to-be so she can use to frame pictures of her new little arrival.
Keep your menu simple. During the summer months I love to have a nice drink server filled with cucumber, mint and lemon ice water. Serve a great salad, mini sandwiches, fruit, veggies, crackers and dip. I also like to add a signature drink matching the party theme. Depending on your colors this may take a little research but it’s well worth the effort. If budget is an issue, use cupcakes vs. a cake. The above mentioned package will most likely have a cupcake topper to dress up the cupcakes. Place them in a cupcake stand and voila, cute as any cake and a lot less messy for serving.
