Barbie is an icon and no matter what some people may say about this stylish doll, she is here to stay. If you are planning a little girls Birthday Party and she loves playing with Barbie dolls, well this is sure to get you started on her Birthday party to do list.
I love this theme because it is black, white and pink – super chic. Not to mention you are sure to already have white dishes and left over black Halloween party supplies laying around. For my daughter’s 3rd birthday party grandma ordered her a Barbie Birthday cake. You know, the one that has the Barbie in the middle and the cake is her skirt. I remember the little girls looking at the cake a little confused, like do we play with it or eat it?

The first Barbie doll was sold in 1959 and she wore a black and white zebra striped swimsuit and signature topknot ponytail, (my Mom still has the original)
During the first year of production Barbie was available as either a blonde or brunette and around 350,000 were sold.
In 2009, Barbie celebrated her 50th birthday and I helped celebrate with a Barbie Tweetstakes.
Did you hear? Last year Barbie got a Tattoo!
This post is dedicated to my Mom – she is a HUGE Barbie Fan and today is her Birthday!
Happy Birthday Mom!
