If you’re an involved fashionista, the chances are that you’ve shopped Pink Tartan before. If so, you’ll recognize the name; Kimberley Newport-Mimran. This September, The Kim Newport Collection Debuted at Toronto Fashion Week. Newport-Mimran showcases her eveningwear line, Kim Newport to a full house at the ROM in Toronto and the collection is breathtakingly beautiful. Her collection is uber-feminine, showcasing feathers and light pinks, yet equips the modern woman with cuts and lengths to feel confident no matter the occasion. The Kim Newport Collection empowers women through easy elegance! She understands the modern women who loves texture, luxurious fabric and classic sophistication.
I started shopping Kim Newport-Mimran’s beloved Pink Tartan clothing line in the early 2000’s. This was because I was fortunate to preview one of her first fashion shows for Pink Tartan. I have been a loyal fan EVER since. Shopping her collection at her Pink Tartan boutiques in Toronto and her infamous sample sales has given me the opportunity to wear classic, stylish clothing that have been staples in my closet for years. Since I work, have a family and like to keep busy, her clothing allows me to do my job, feel good about what I am wearing and have clothing that is timeless and effortlessly classy. My closet thanks her for this!
The Kim Newport Collection Debuts at Toronto Fashion Week!
This year, Newport-Mimran debuted a new line of stunning eveningwear. The collection has an easy elegance for the modern woman. Newport-Mimran proves that eveningwear can be a reverie of dream accessories AND dresses. Many of her designs on the catwalk had neckties, tulle, large accentuated bows and capes-which solidifies that women really DO have super powers (amiright?). But the most buzzed about accessory at the show? Feathers! Feathers are proving to be a new style trend in 2019! Feathered crowns, feather trim, feathered hats and the feather CAPES all fluttered down the runway. Intricate details done with sheer precision and elegance were breathtakingly combined.
Pastels played a hand in the ambiance and mood of the show. Dream dresses in pale pink, light blue, whites, reds and black created and crafted to perfection to empower women. Personally, I know I will be taking inspiration from this collection to expand my repetoire of evening looks, and cant wait to see what Newport-Mimran shows us next.
