Are you washing your face everyday before you go to bed? Are you removing all of the make-up each time you put it on? I know that the season of parties and celebrations has is upon us, which means wearing special make-up. Leaving your make-up on when you go to bed is a big no-no.
Surprisingly, I’ve spoken to many friends both on and off line about face washing, and cannot believe how many do not wash their face before going to bed.
The reasons you should washing your face before bed are more than just because you feel icky in the morning. Not washing your face leads to 1 or all of the below:
- Causes acne and break outs because make-up clogs the pores. If you didn’t wear make-up, wash your face anyway remember all the dirt and oil from the day also clogs pores and causes acne.
- It’s aging. Yup you read that right. Not cleaning your face damages your skin, and causes you to have crows feet, and other aging loveliness.
- Gets all over your sheets. I know this doesn’t sound all that horrible, but make-up stains your sheets. That’s just gross.
I know you are thinking you don’t know where to begin as far as buying face washes, but the vast array of formulas at reasonable prices are infinite. Here’s some great ones:
For sensitive skin you can get Aveeno Active Naturals Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser ($5.99).
Cleansing with tea tree is great for acne, and I Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash ($4.45) has few ingredients, but cleanses well. This face wash gives you a great super clean feeling without harsh chemicals, with the bonus of tea tree to temper break outs.
The most gentle for sensitive to normal skin is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser ($10-$20). Simple cleansing is all you need.
If you are trying to take care of
aging mature skin then Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Ageless Daily Exfoliating Cleanser ($7.87) is a great product. This happens to be the current face wash I’m using, and have been for about 2 years.
I know it’s hard to add something to your nightly routine, especially when you are so tired, but you will have sking that feels good, and looks better too. As a side note I use my cleansing lotion to also clean my eye make-up off. I’m too lazy for a 2 step process. I find just closing my eyes and washing my eye lids with the rest of my face takes care of getting my make-up off too.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
