Love, Loss and chocolate covered Strawberries!

Yesterday was my 9th Wedding Anniversary and these beautiful chocolate dipped strawberries from Shari’s Berries were delivered to our door.  (Thanks Mom)  They were delicious!  After dinner we sat on the couch as a family and ate them together on our special day.  WOW 9 years.  Where does the time go?  We had an amazing wedding, I can still remember how much fun I had and I even kept saying, almost in disbelief  “I’m having so much fun!” I guess I thought something would go wrong or something dramatic would happen, I was just waiting for something to mess up my day. Nothing ever did.  I can honestly say that I had a perfect wedding day.

9 years ago we were married at the historic Castle Green right here in Pasadena, my dad walked me down the isle and our father daughter dance was to the Fleetwood Mac song “Landslide”  I love that song and it reminds me of my Dad.  I know I am suppose to be remembering my husband and our love and life together, but this year I remember what my dad said to me while we were dancing, he said “Andrea, I love your spirit!”  I felt how proud he was of me and how much he loved me.  Well Dad, I love your Spirit too and I think a small piece of my spirit is missing, but I will try hard to keep your spirit alive through me.

Harris has been an amazing husband and Dad for the past 9 years, but over this past month he has been incredible! Thanks Harris, I love you!   “Forever, Everything!”

  1. Andrea, my good friends got married on 9/16/01 at Castle Green! In fact, it was just 7 days after my own wedding, but my husband and I stuck around town to be part of it.

  2. My husband and I used to live in Pasadena (our first child was conceived at the Ritz Carlton) so I am familiar with Castle Green. Beautiful. My heart goes out to for your dad’s loss. It takes a long time, Andrea, and I think it’s perfectly fine to be thinking of your dad on your anniversary. And I’m glad your husband is there for you. Thinking of you.
