Getting to know my new Windows Phone

Moms, we have to be organized.   I especially have to be organized this week as I head down to San Diego for BlogHer, my calendar looks like a color coded covert operation, dangerous yet very exciting!

Last year I organized my entire schedule in an old fashioned notebook, (no joke) I color coded with my sharpie’s and even had Post it notes stuck to the pages with peoples phone numbers and other important information (not too savvy).  This year I have evolved and have put down the sharpies and post it’s and digitally organized myself.  I mean, at this point in my blogging career I would look pretty silly opening up a notebook to check my schedule and engagements.  Other bloggers may even point and laugh.

I need to have my plan of attack, alerts, contacts and have my calendar all in the palm of my hand.  Enter the Windows Phone that is making it all possible!  See those blue square like tiles – those are my new digital post it notes, except I made mine pink. They are actually called Live Tiles which create a dashboard of all my most important stuff.  They show me my contacts profile picture, status updates, new e-mail messages and they constantly refresh themselves to show the latest content.

Something else I love is the Facebook integration so if you click on a contact you will see their picture, latest facebook post, e-mail, phone number all in one place.   And with the next version of the Windows phone, you’ll be able to tweet right from the People Hub with the Twitter integration.  I’ll also be taking plenty of pictures with this phone and sharing with all my social media channels so the camera is sure to get a workout. I have the older version of the iphone and there is no flash – so wildly excited about the flash on this phone.

So this is my new BlogHer Best Friend, let’s see if she can keep up!

Here is an article from People.com about how great the Windows Phone is for multi-tasking parents!

Disclosure:  I am being sponsored by Windows phone for BlogHer, I have been given a phone to use and provide feedback.  All my savvy thoughts and sassy opinions are my own.
