Easy DIY Blowout

In Beauty, Style by Tina BowlingLeave a Comment

Not every mom has the time or funds to get a salon blowout. Even if I did have the time and extra dollars I am probably WAY too picky to let someone else style my hair that often! I received several Redken products to create a DIY blowout from start to finish. Since I have a major head of thick hair, a blowout is a necessity for any style. If I let my hair air dry with no help from product it is normally a mess of wavy frizz. Even if you like to volumize or curl your hair, a blowout should be your first step. Use this guide to create a stunning DIY blowout at home!

Redken Hair Products

Start with the right shampoo and conditioner like Redken Diamond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Right away after my shampoo I could easily run my fingers through my hair. This shampoo and conditioner provide amazing hydration and shine. The oils in this duo rock!
DIY Blowout Step 1

Next, blot hair with a towel to remove excess oil. Never rub a towel over your hair, it creates frizz and causes breakage.

DIY Blowout Step 2

Then use two or three drops of Redken Diamond Oil, warm it in your hands and apply from middle of hair to ends. Avoid the roots or hair could look greasy. This silicone-free oil does wonders, smoothing cuticles and protecting hair from styling damage.

DIY Blowout Step 3

Next, boost your roots with Redken Guts 10 Root Volumizing Spray. Lift up the roots and apply evenly section by section.
Then pre-dry, taking most of the moisture out of your hair.

DIY Blowout Step 4

Next, finish drying hair section by section, using your brush to direct hair upward following the hair with your hairdryer root to ends. Apply Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray to set each section. This spray allows hold that you can still work with.  Follow these steps for each section of hair.

DIY Blowout Step 5

Last, add volume at front by lifting top roots with fingers, blast with cool air to hold. Complete the look with a bit more Fashion Work 12 all over.

DIY Blowout Finished Look

The finished look is the perfect DIY blowout!  With Redken products my hair turned out soft, shiny, and I achieved a style that had hold and didn’t look limp. Locate a salon near you to purchase these Redken products.

Will you try this DIY blowout method at home?
