Celebrate Summer with Blueberries & Cheese!

I don’t need any specific reason to throw a party or get together but when it’s national blueberry month why not just let that be your theme!? I was inspired to create this party menu based on just simply blueberries and cheese. These two things sound simple but you can get pretty creative when you put both together, I guarantee your guest mouths with be watering the minute they walk through the door.

Salad

I am not known for my cooking but I can whip up a salad with my eyes closed, especially in the summer time when so many great ingredients are in season. This is my signature salad I make in the summer time and it’s super easy!

Ingredients: Spinach, Blueberries Strawberries, Grapes, Blue Cheese or Feta Cheese, a Raisin Crustini and Raspberry Vinegrette. If you can’t find a raisin crustini you can add in some walnuts or almonds and raisins.

MIni Cheeseburgers

You can;t go wring with the this all American classic but change it up a bit and make a variety of mini cheeseburgers instead. No matter if you like beef burgers, turkey burgers or veggie burgers there will be something for everyone. making mini cheeseburgers gives everyone the option of trying a variety of flavorful burgers with different toppings. Yo ucan have the burgers pre-set with your featured toppings or you can create a BYOB (build your own burger) station.

Have a variety of the Cracker Barrel Cheese on hand and let everyone decide their favorite type of cheese and place other toppings like tomatoes, bacon, lettuce, avocados, onions, pickles, and jalepenos. Remember to cut them smaller to fit on the smaller sized burgers.

Cheese

Let’s face it, the cheese is what makes the ultimate burger! Cracker Barrel Cheese is famous for their Cheddar cheese and with seven varities you can get creative with each flavor. Cracker Barrel’s jalapeno cheddar makes the ultimate tex-mex burger when topped with tomatoes, avocado, bell peppers and a little hot sauce. The buttery flavor of the sharp cheddar is perfect for a Hawaiian style burger with pineapple, grilled onions and BBQ sauce making it a little bit sweet and spicy. Cracker Barrel’s aged reserve cheddar is bold and would be perfect for a burger with bacon, create a BLT for a mouth watering bite of savory flavors.

Blueberry Cocktails & Blueberry Beer

Make a signature drink that goes along with your theme. I found this Spiced Blueberry Cocktail on Pinterest and it sounds like a very refreshing cocktail. Just like a variety of cheese there is an endless variety of beer on the market. We have a very good friend who loves to bring over different flavors all the time. I usually at least try a sip of each one, some are better than others;) I found this Blueberry Lager from Wild Blue which fits this theme perfectly. Just like wine, beer can enhance the flavor of your food so setting up samples of beer pairings with the mini burgers will can be exciting.
