The chambray is a closet staple

I think we can all agree that the chambray shirt is a classic piece that belongs in everyone’s wardrobe. It’s like the LBD or the trench coat (can you tell I just watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s?), it’s just a necessary staple. The thing that makes this simple jean shirt such a staple is that it is so versatile! You can dress it up or down, and pair it with many different styles and outfits. I’ve put together 5 different looks to inspire you to style a chambray in a cute way. Let’s get into those looks, shall we?

Trendy with a chambray

This is pretty much the perfect mom/mom-to-be uniform. A great (and comfortable!) maxi skirt, a long white tee or tank, and a chambray tied at the waist — or just above the bump if you’ve got one! Pair with an on-trend statement necklace (loving this one) and you’re good to go!

Casual cool

This look is super easy to attain, and probably the most relaxed chambray look out there. Just throw on some black skinnies (or leggings!) and chic black booties and wear a relaxed white tee underneath your open chambray. Super easy, super laid back, and you’ll look effortlessly cool.

The prep look

We’ll have to wait for warmer weather to really be able to sport this one, but a cute pair of hot pink J. Crew chino shorts are a must-have in any spring/summer wardrobe. Paired with light chambray and some nude heels, you’ll be looking fabulous no matter the occasion! If you’ve got a bump, fasten the belt right above it to really show it off!
