What a fun way to add a whole new level of excitement by making the big announcement of boy or girl than to host a Gender Reveal Party. There are several gender neutral themes you can choose from as not to give it away at the door. My favorite is the bumble bee theme with the fun play on words “What will it bee?”. We’ve found these adorable party supplies on Etsy that will definitely get the party started.
Typically the gender reveal parties include both men and women. Have your doctor write down the sex of the baby and seal in an envelope so that you can present this to the person who is going to make that big announcement possible. The questions is; how to make your announcement? Well there are several, oh, so cute ways to do this. Here are my top favorites!
- Deliver the sealed envelope to your local bakery and either have them tint the cake or the icing inside the cake pink or blue. It’s sort of like cutting a cake at a wedding but much more exciting.
- Again deliver your sealed envelope to your nearest party store and ask them to fill a box with helium balloons in pink or blue. This would be my preference for a summer party. Gather everyone outside for the big reveal.
- Fill a pinata with pink or blue candy. Obviously mom might have to sit this one out and watch as all the guests smack it open.
One of the most exciting things about being pregnant is sharing the news of the baby’s gender with all of your family and friends. A party like this would make that announcement extra special.

How precious! Gender reveal parties are becoming so popular that we built a website as a resource. It’s funny because a lot of people seem shocked that people want to announce the gender at these parties, but I really think it’s very sweet!
