Designing a toddler playroom nook

In Kids by Product ScoutLeave a Comment

We officially have a toddler in our house. Which means that things are definitely changing around here. Everything has been childproofed and we’ve had to make things more play-friendly.

We have a fun toy box downstairs in our living room that gets emptied daily, but we wanted our little guy to have a play area that was just for him. I decided that it was time to finally make his room all about him and design him a toddler playroom nook. I had left a few tall shelves in the corner that just didn’t have a good home. Since he’s starting to climb that was the first thing to get moved out.

For a safer solution, we laid one of the shelves on its side and turned it into a great storage area for toys and a few of our favorite books. I made sure to place some of his favorite stuffed animals on top to (hopefully) discourage him from climbing on top of it.

To make him a designated play area in his room, I used these fun Skip Hop Playspot Geo Foam Floor Tiles ($79) to decorate the floor and make it perfect for rolling cars and toys across. I love that it comes with a dozen ideas on how to lay them out in different patterns. We’ve had fun trying out different combinations to see which one fit his room decor best!
