Fall Leather Trends 2013
Another Fall fashion trend for 2013 is leather ladies. Which also touches on another trend, black. Black it back but that is another post. Now, if you would rather lay down in bed with a bunch of snakes than squeeze into some leather pants. But just about any one, young and old can and should rock a leather jacket, or maybe you can show off your killer legs with a leather skirt? Being on trend means finding a way to make it work for you, you should never wear something you are not 100% comfortable in.
What I find more interesting is all the leather detailing this fall. I love all three of the dresses with leather detail shown here, they are all appropriate for a work meeting, date night or special event.
If you are opposed to wearing real genuine leather, then good news! Most of these fashionable items made with faux leather and vegan leather.
What is Vegan Leather?
Faux and Vegan leather are artificial leathers that are synthetic and no animal materials are used. Not all fake leathers are the same. Some are made out of Polyurethane or PU. This is a more “breathable” form of faux leather and is what shoes and some apparel is made out of. Another form of fake leather is made out of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride or more typically called Vinyl). This product tends not to “breathe” like PU and can be stiffer. Vegan leather can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. – Taken from the Alternative Outfitters Vegan Boutique.
From Wikipedia: Artificial leather is a fabric or finish intended to substitute for leather in fields such as upholstery, clothing, and fabrics, and other uses where a leather-like finish is required but the actual material is cost-prohibitive, unsuitable, or unusable for ethical reasons.
Here are three items I am lusting after from Free People, now they know how to use vegan leather. All at prices we can afford.
