Luxury Spa at the SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills

Superior Luxury Suites. Super Luxe Spa. Seemingly Limitless Sophistication.

Still not exactly sure what the S, L, and S in SLS Hotel stand for, but I’ve got a good idea after visiting and experience all they had to offer during a Mommy and Me blogger event last month.  It’s the perfect fit for this week’s Back to Mom theme because really, there’s not a better place that I can think of right now for some serious R&R. Here’s a snap shot of my visit.

The Rooms – If you are lucky enough to stay at this posh hotel, the rooms will not disappoint. Los Angeles-based interior designer Phillip Starck designed all of the hotel’s 297 guest rooms. Each room has a larger than life wall TV that doubles as a full sized mirror when not in use. The beds are plush and the pillows monogrammed. By the way, you have your choice of pillows upon arrival. Hey, they want you to be comfy! If you have out of town guests, it’s a perfect spot for them to soak in a little Los Angeles flavor. As an added bonus, 61 of the hotel rooms have an indoor fitness center from Technogym. This thing is amazing, and literally pulls out from the wall so that you can do a myriad of resistant exercises right there in your own space.

The Spa at Ciel – Imagine going to heaven. Everything is white. The lighting is soft. The air is sweet and everything you touch is plush. This is pretty much what you get a Ceil. They’ve added some really cool, “flash” services to their menu. Nothing on it takes longer than 30 minutes, so it’s perfect for us moms who want to get a little pampering in between our long list of errands. When I was there, they were offering facials, manis, pedis, and a massages. The list changes, so call ahead to know what to expect. Walks in can be accommodated.

The Food – If you’re not familiar with celebrity chef Jose Andres, this is a great place to get acquainted. He is as innovative as he is talented and his creations can be tasted through out the hotel – in the Bazaar, at the roof top pool, through their 24 hour room service or in the spa. They just added a Mommy and Me Tea package, which is also amazing. Choose from a variety of finger foods and teas, then sit back and gab with girlfriends while the little ones are treated like the princes and princesses that they are.

The Rooftop Bar and Patio – Don’t bother trying to get a peek unless you are staying in the hotel. This location is off limits to anyone who’s not a guest of the SLS. I love it. Total privacy and something to really make you feel special. Rent a private cabana for the ultimate in privacy or lounge back in a stylish chaise chair. You won’t be there long before someone asks if you need a refill to your glass or if need a bite to eat from the bar menu. There’s a good chance you’ll answer yes to BOTH.

The Bottomline – This hotel is definitely worth a visit. Even if you don’t end up staying the night, you can still get a taste of the posh life at the lobby bar, the restaurant or anywhere in between.

The SLS Hotel is located at 465 South La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90048.
