Hey Savvy Sassy Readers!
It’s Natalia and I’m back with some more beauty inspiration for ya.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that if you’re a mom you are probably pretty busy. More often than not your hair/makeup/beauty routine is what falls to the wayside. Now I haven’t taken a professional survey or anything, but does anyone out there feel me?
I’ve been able to get makeup routine down to under 5 minutes. So when I need to run out the door I at least don’t look like a monster. Now for the hair though. How you can manage to keep it cute without washing it and styling it everyday? And even though ponytails can be cute, let’s mix it up a little bit. How about 5 cute hair buns that are perfect for moms?
Twist and Tuck
This one is so easy, it’s not even funny. You tease your hair a little at the crown to give it some height. Then make a loose ponytail at the base of your neck. Pull the ponytail out a little bit and create a hole in the center. Twist the rest of your hair up and tuck it into the hole. Secure with bobby pins and voila — you’re done!
Everyday Bun
Another easy one because that’s how I roll. Separate your hair from behind your hair all the way up and secure with a clip or something just to get it out of the way. Pull your hair straight back and secure it in a ponytail, then wrap the rest around to create a pin. Pin to secure. Then tease the hair that you had left out to get some height. Pull it straight back and wrap it around the existing bun. Secure with pins and hairspray and you’re done!
The Messy Bun
Did every mom in the world shout for joy when ‘the messy bun’ came into style? I mean, I was rocking that look long before it became hip! I guess I’m just ahead of the game. It’s super easy, just a little difficult to explain. Pull your hair all the way through like you’re creating a ponytail. On the second pull through, only pull your hair half way through. Do that again only pulling half way through. The key to a cute messy bun is the pinning afterwords. Pull out sections that need to be pulled out and pin down where needed so it’s even everywhere. Make sense? If not, here’s a video tutorial.
Oh and if you have short hair, no worries, I’ve got ya covered! If you put your hair in a ponytail and add some curls to the ponytail. Then just pin all the curls messily until you have a bun. Here’s a pic:
Double Headbanded Bun
Apparently ‘headbanded’ is not a word, I got the little red line underneath. They must not read hair blogs! With this bun you want to have a lot of volume on top so that the headbands will stay and it gives it texture. So tease, tease, tease on top and loosely secure in a regular bun. Then place the headbands (don’t slide them back) where you want. You can secure with bobby pins on the side so they don’t slip all over the place. Then pull the hair out a bit between the headbands and voila!
Simple Bun
This one is very simple but is a favorite of mine during the summer months. It’s especially great for long hair. Start by slipping your head over and gathering it all together, smoothing out the front a bit. Then you can come back upright and twist the hair you have straight up in the air. Twist it until it twists down into a bun, but keep it loose while you’re doing it. Secure with bobby pins and you’re done. Easy right? Now you know why it’s my summer go to!
There you have it! If you aren’t already rocking these styles, get on it. They’re easy, cute and perfect for your 5-minutes-for-hair mornings.
