Shimmer Powder Or Fairy Dust?

In Beauty, Style by Guest Writer1 Comment

Shimmer powder to me is just another version of fairy dust, because of the way it makes each person luminescent when they wear it. Shimmer powder allows us to live the fairy talre of light illuminating our faces from within.

The best thing about shimmer powder is that they can be used on the face, eyes and lips. They quickly become the all-in-one makeup you can’t live without. I will also add, that although I have called it shimmer powder, shimmer products come in a liquid and cream form as well.

There are shimmer powders that double as a blush or bronzer when it has a tint of color. the colored forms are fantastic because you can blend the colors, if there is more than 1, to create different looks depending on where you are going.shimmer powder or fairy dust

The Sephora Collection Harmony Trio Bronzer ($16) gives a little bit more of a bronzing effect. You can use a eyeshadow brush to put it on individually on your eyes as eyeshadow. You can use the same eyeshadow brush to put the darkest color on your cheeks and the lightest color on as a highlighter.

Stila All Over Shimmer Duo ($22) has fast become the favorite in shimmer powders. The 2 colors are magnificent both separately and blended together. The pearl dust truly makes you shimmer.

Urban Decay Urban Glow Highlight is a shimmer cream, and because it is a cream it can be used generously on the apples of the cheek to create a dewy effect.

Another option is the e.l.f. Studio Shimmer Palette ($3). It’s a cream, but all of the colors are very light so they can be mixed together or used separately on lips, eyes and face.

The current shimmer powder I’m using is the Pixi Beauty All Over Magic ($24). Notice the middle of the colors has one color made into the shape of a fairy. It begs the question: is it shimmer powder or fairy dust? The blend of the colors are simply divine. I have both No. 1 – Bare Radiance and No. 3 – Brightening Radiance. I use No. 1 as a blush, and No. 3 as both a highlighter above the cheekbone and as an eyeshadow just under my eyebrow. Hence, living up to its name as all over magic.

It’s holiday season, so consider getting yourself a shimmer product. It will enhance your look with radiance, and a glow that will surely have you feeling radiant.
