I loved seeing what the other Savvy Sassy Moms wore in our last What We Wore Wednesday post and it really inspired me to mix-up my wardrobe a bit and to click-over to do some online browsing now that I know where everyone shops.
Seeing how other savvy ladies put together an outfit and accessorize is one of my favorite parts of a What I Wore post and I hope it gives you some great ideas for utilizing your own wardrobes.
This week I asked the SSM contributors what they wore on Thanksgiving or to a special event over the weekend. SSM had a great article on Thanksgiving outfit ideas for the whole family, so it was fun to see what we all selected for the day….
This is what Sherry wore for the opening of Wicked on Saturday night. “It’s a brown BCBG dress with Michael Kors tiger print espadrille shoes. The clutch and brown stone cocktail ring are both Banana Republic. I’m wearing the Garden Party chandelier earrings (retired) and a bracelet by Stella and Dot.” (And I’m especially jealous of the palm trees in the background since we had a snowstorm last week!).
Here is what Andrea wore… “I wore my CAbi dark denim skinny jeans with an OxBlood blouse that i have no idea where I got it from. My shoes are a pair of Vince Camutto leopard snakeskin leather, funky heals, circa like 2006. I kicked those off later and went barefoot most of the day. I kept it pretty low maintenance for Thanksgiving. We were at a friends house and she set a lovely table and we had some very stylish wine tags! When I posted the wine tags on Instagram everyone wanted to know where to get them. I found them all for you! Fashionable Wine Tags: Brookstone Wine Charms – Medal Medallion.”
Candice went a little more dressed up this year because she wasn’t hosting. “We usually have Thanksgiving at my house, but this year my younger brother and sister-in-law have a new house, and wanted to host it at their house. I put on my CAbi Curry Skirt, a new top I picked up at Target, my comfy shoes I got this summer at Sears and few of my fave jewelry pieces. If we’d had it our house it would definitely have been me in my comfy jeans because I would’ve been helping my hubby cook Thanksgiving dinner, but this year I got to play the part of well dressed guest. Next year it will be back to my comfy jeans.”
For a casual Thanksgiving at my aunts house, I wore a corduroy dress with a cute bird print from Anthropologie from two Falls ago, along with an Anthropologie sweater and belt, Target sweater tights, a scarf from a local boutique, and Naturalizer boots.
Do you dress-up for Thanksgiving or are your family gatherings more casual?
