I am a bag person and I’m finally at the point where if I bring one more bag into this house someone is going to have to move out. And I’m not going to tell you how many I currently have because it’s embarrassing. I also happen to be a huge fan of Fawn Design so when I got news that Fawn Design was coming out with a new tote the stars aligned and it was on it’s way to me. This bag is so much more than a diaper bag, or even just a tote bag, this is an everything bag and easily my new favorite and I’m going to tell you why.
I know you’ve seen Fawn Design’s gorgeous bucket-style backpack and mini backpack. In recent years I see them everywhere at local playgrounds and playdates. And for good reason, they are so cute with stylish accents, roomy without being too big and made from high-quality faux leather. The kicker for me has always been the size, which in my opinion can be a dealbreaker when it comes to a good backpack. But the Fawn Design tote is the perfect roomy backpack without being so big you’re knocking things over when turning around in the grocery store – I know you all know what I’m talking about.
In general, there are two types of totes: a vast pocketless expanse where we toss in everything a tribe of nomads would need to survive the winter for our two hour trip to the park and essentially the same thing, but with POCKETS to keep you sane and organized. The Fawn Design tote falls into the second category in the best way.
I’ve had this bag for a couple weeks now and the one thing I want people to know is that this is not a diaper bag, it’s SO SO much more. While, yes, this is technically a diaper bag you should know that I haven’t touched a diaper in over a year and this has still been my go-to bag on the way out of the door. For one, pockets galore – six to be exact. On one side we have 2 pockets that fit my gigantic phone perfectly and made it easy to find, on the other is a large zippered pocket, behind that is a large laptop/iPad pocket with a magnetic closure and on each side, not one but TWO large water bottle pockets. Heaven.
At one point since I’ve had this bag, I had an impromptu road trip and I was able to throw my 13” MacBook in there, two water bottles, phone, keys, all my usual purse garbage (even a pair of shoes) and off I went. The fixtures and clasps stayed strong with all the weight and my stuff stayed safe and all in one place. If you’re looking for a great travel/plane bag you’ve found it. Round out this goodness with knowing that this tote is wipeable, stylish and comes in both black and brown and I’ve think I’ve found your next bag.
Anything I didn’t like?
Well if I have to complain about anything it would be that the high-quality vegan leather, tons of pockets and beautiful metal finishes do come at a price, and I’m not talking dollars here, I’m talking weight, because – yes – it’s a little heavy for a tote bag. And even though there are a ton of pockets on the inside, an outside pocket would have been nice, but that’s just me. Lastly, be aware that like other bags from Fawn Design, this bag does not come with a changing pad, but you can purchase one separately on their site.
I just can’t say enough about how great this bag is if you’re at the point where you’re transitioning out of the giant diaper bag phase, love a diaper bag that doesn’t look like a diaper bag, are a tote lover like me or just love a great everyday bag where everything has a place then this is a great bag for you. The Fawn Design Tote retails for $160 and comes in both black and brown.
What’s currently your favorite bag?
