Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the taping of the Ellen Show! This was not just any ol’ regular show, but the uber popular Mother’s Day episode. This show is special because they fill the entire audience with first time expecting moms and the women are gifted some pretty amazing swag. It’s a hot ticket to hold and one that many pregnant mom-to-be’s would die for.
I was invited by the founder, designer and owner of JP Lizzy diaper bags, Wendy Berry. Her beautiful bags were featured on the show as the must have stylish diaper bag for new moms! I was under very strict orders to keep it hush hush until the airing of the actual show. Which was very hard for me to do. I would love to win this because I am due with my second child in September. I always thought I would be able to use the baby stuff from my two and a half year old but hurricane Sandy destroyed all of my sons baby stuff. I am a wife to a United States Air Force Airman, Scott, for almost 3 years. He has already been deployed once to Afghanistan and just last week he got deployed again for another 6-8 month tour. We are expecting our first child October 9th! With the way things are looking, he will not be back in time for the birth. He will also not be here to find out if we are having a Boy or Girl which is next week. All the firsts during pregnancy (kicks, growing belly, pictures) we won’t get to experience together. While Scott is gone I will be going back home to Texas to be with my parents for support. It’s hard living off the pay our military guys get, so we are trying to put back money for anything, but haven’t been able to save much so far. I want to win because there are a few things I would love to have before baby number 2 gets here. With my first daughter, I was trying to get everything cheap. A prime example is my diaper bag. I got the cheapest one I could find and ended up having to replace it twice and I STILL don’t have a good bag for this next kiddo. I’m a first time mom whose husband is active duty military. We are actually having to move next month, but I have to stay behind to finish out my contract with my job. Because we have a little girl, a limited budget (wife is a stay at home mommy who does an amazing job), we like nice things and we are planning on a second child so these would help us greatly. Some of my very favorite baby items are on this list, but I haven’t been able to afford any of them. I’m hoping to save enough soon to get the stroller.
I’m a SAHM with baby #4 arriving in August. We’ve been reusing as many of our car seats as possible, using covers when necessary to change the gender of the seat, but the infant seat and oldest convertible are both approaching their expiration dates. The double stroller we have will not fit in our SUV with all three rows of seats up, and we’re needing something smaller. Our play pen has a hole in the mesh that our kids love to put their arms and legs through. Basically, all of our stuff is just worn out. If I could win a contest like this, I’d be thrilled!

This would mean the world to us ! I actually applied to be at that Ellen show and never got the call. We just had our baby boy and after 56 hours of labor it ended in a c-section. THE REAL REASON WE NEED TO WIN – my husband is a US ARMY soldier , he has deployed 5 times (2 to Iraq and 3 to Afghanistan) … 3 of these deployments he volunteered for in place of his fellow soldiers because they had or were about to have a baby. This is now our baby, he isn’t deployed , and winning would be the icing on the cake for us ! Please pick us ! These items would help us out more then you know !

I am a mother of four beautiful amazing girls. We thought we were done having children, especially after losing one of our children almost two years ago. So, of course, we got rid of all of our baby stuff, and I mean ALL of our baby stuff. We were asked by a mother to adopt her unborn child. She said she knew that we would be great parents to her baby girl. We decided that we would adopt this little girl and now are anxiously awaiting her arrival. She will be joining our family before we know it, and hopefully not before her due date in December 🙂 We do need everything for a baby though. We gave everything away, and sold what we could before we moved states…….basically, we need help!!!
