Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we are gearing up for the day of hearts and love with a special treat. We love creating fun drinks for our kids that remind us of our own childhood. For a twist on a classic root beer float, combine vanilla ice cream and Cherry 7-UP to create these sweet cupid floats that will sweeten up your Valentine’s Day celebrations.
Just like an old fashioned float, these cupid floats are made with only three ingredients and can be put together in just minutes. They are perfect if you want to surprise your kids with a special Valentine’s Day treat and are also great for parties and playdates. Pretty much anyone will enjoy these cool, creamy and fizzy Valentine’s Day drinks.
Cupid Float
Servings: As many as you want to make!
Prep time: Less than 5-minutes
Ingredients:
Vanilla ice cream
Cherry 7-UP
Whipped cream topping
Directions:
1. Fill a glass with 1-2 scoops of ice cream. Pull out some fun glasses, if you have them!
2. Pour Cherry 7-UP slowly over ice cream.
3. When carbonation has settled, add one last scoop of ice cream on the top of the float.
4. Top with whipped cream topping and add sprinkles.
Sweet sipping
If you can’t wait long enough for the ice cream to start to melt you can dig right in with a spoon, but as the soda and ice cream begin to blend together the creamy concoction can be sipped through a straw. We served the cupid floats in milkshake glasses, but for class parties we’ve prepared these in clear plastic cups, too. No matter how you serve these cupid floats, everyone will be sipping sweetly.
