DIY Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub

Cooler temperatures probably mean that you will be covering up more skin than you do in warmer months, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still be committed to pampering your skin this time of year. We love sugar scrub for exfoliating and keeping our skin smooth year round! Pumpkin spice sugar scrub is easy to make and perfect for pampering yourself, but it makes a sweet surprise as a hostess gift, too!

Make Your Own Sugar Scrubs

Coconut oil and sugar… a dynamic duo

Despite its new found popularity, coconut oil is nothing new and has been around for years. Recently more and more people are staring to recognize the versatility of coconut oil and the many uses for it, including it’s moisturizing effects for skin. Sugar is a gentle exfoliant that is good not only for those with sensitive skin, but really for everyone. Combining these two instantly creates a refreshing DIY sugar scrub. Add in a little scent and not only will it leave your skin feeling soft, but also smelling great. From peppermint to vanilla and citrus to lavender, the possibilities are endless.

DIY Hostess Gift: Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub
Pumpkin spice sugar scrub

Since we are still on our pumpkin spice kick around here we decide to create a pumpkin spice sugar scrub. We’ve been using it ourselves and plan to gift some to teachers and Thanksgiving hostesses as well!

Ingredients:
1 Cup sugar
1/4 Cup coconut oil
2 tsp. Pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp. Vanilla extract

DIY Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub

Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients (pumpkin pie spice and sugar) in a large bowl.
2. Add wet ingredients (coconut oil and vanilla extract) and begin stirring to mix.
3. Continue mixing to remove all lumps of coconut oil and until sugar scrub has achieved a damp texture.
4. Store in airtight container. We prefer mini-mason jars, but plastic containers also work well.

Easy Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub

Start scrubbing

To use your DIY sugar scrub, first wash your skin with soap and rinse well. Next, apply sugar scrub to wet skin and massage in a circular motion. The sugar granules will exfoliate while the coconut oil moisturizes. Finally, rinse sugar scrub from skin and enjoy the fabulous effects. Your skin will thank you!

How do you take care of your skin during the cold months?

  1. Hello Carrie and Jen,

This Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub smells like pumpkin pie, and it’s definitely my favorite fall homemade beauty product. They really make hands and skin so soft and depending on the flavors you add.

I love the combination of fall spices that are in this specific body scrub. Since I am craving all things pumpkin and cinnamon right now I thought it would be great to come up with a Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub.

Eventually, thanks for exploring your healthy thought with us.

    With best wishes,

    Amar Kumar
