Do you believe in luck?

In Living by savvysassymoms

I don’t believe in luck.  I mean sure, I’ve been lucky by not getting pulled over for speeding or getting a window seat on an airplane.  I’ve been lucky in Las Vegas, lucky in love, lucky to have healthy kids and lucky to have great friends.  Looking at my life I would say I have been very fortunate and perhaps luck has been on my side, but I still don’t believe it’s all just been luck.   I found $20 on the street about two weeks ago.  Was it luck or did everything in the world align so I would walk down the street on that day so that I would find that $20? Most might just call it dumb luck, but I am a big believer in everything happens for a reason. Some might say my experience being on Oprah was lucky, but if I had not made certain decisions that lead up to that happening, that opportunity would have never presented itself.

I am very lucky that I enjoy my work, work from home and have a helpful husband.  Is that luck or is that making decisions and choices about what you want from life?  I look at my life and know that it has not come easy and that I have worked very hard for it.   I have created this life and the things I’ve wanted.   So maybe, I’ve been lucky to have passion, drive, motivation and determination.
There is a quote “Luck is a crossroad where preparation and opportunity meet” and I truly believe that.  I am not a spiritual or religious person, but I do believe that life is what you make of it and how you react to it.  If you truly want something, it is up to you to go after it and along the way you will eventually get “lucky” but it won’t just be luck.  It will happen to you because you deserve it and because you’ve prepared for it.So whether you call it luck, fate or destiny try your luck at winning a trip for 2 to Ireland from International Delight by entering the “Luck of the Irish Sweepstakes” or if you are looking for some St. Patrick’s Day inspiration check them out on Pinterest too.

Now, tell me about the last time good luck was on your side?
