Date Night. What’s that? You know, where you and your spouse get dressed up in cocktail attire and look like civilized adults. No, sitting on the couch, eating ice cream and renting a movie does not qualify as a real date night people. I’m talking sexy heels for you and a black jacket for him. Get a babysitter, drop the kids off with grandma or beg your friends to watch the kids and treat yourself to a date night because you guys deserve it!
We were invited to see Intimate illusions, the magic of Ivan Amodei last weekend and well I made it a date night surprise for my husband. The show looked right up his alley and it was his Birthday and to be honest I had nothing else in the works. This could not have been more perfect! My husband is actually a big fan of magic/illusions/mind bending tricks/cards etc…. We have even been to the very hard to get into Magic Castle here in Hollywood, which was very impressive! We have also seen an illusion show in Las Vegas with a very big name and I was not too impressed and I think part of it was I didn’t care for his personality. So…what did i think about Ivan? I thought he was fantastic. He was charming, smart, witty and magical! Oh and he’s cute too, but married ladies so settle down.
Walking into the show I was excited and felt a sense sophistication, I mean it was at the Beverly Wilshire which is where they filmed Pretty Woman after all. They call it intimate illusions because it is just that, with seating for only 60 guests and in a swanky salon type atmosphere with candles and no children under the age of 12 – yay! Ivan was so energetic and entertaining through out the entire night and he really not only has some amazing magic tricks but he kept the mood light and fun. My name was even apart of one of the tricks, it has to do with scrabble letters, but you’ll have to go see the show for yourself!
If you are in desperate need of a date night that does not include pajamas and another movie rental than put on something fancy (or just clean) and go see this show. It truly is Spectacular! or as Ashton Kutcher says “Awesome!”
