Flowy, mid-length dresses are the best and most reliable transitioning piece for Fall. I feel like I can wear these dresses right through Spring, Summer and Fall. The modest yet chic length of the dress is appropriate for both work and your office get together. So, what exactly is a Midi Dress? The length, hence “midi” hits between the knee and ankle and works for both day or night. Opt for a silk or semi-sheer number for the evening with a puff sleeve or a casual cotton floral dress for day.
A Midi Dress Can Be Worn With Anything
A midi dress that is flowy and hits below the knee really can be worn with anything. I love the way this length covers up my knees! They are comfortable, light and flowy, making this silhouette feminine and easy to wear. If you are petite, you may want to add a belt to cinch in your waist to show off your curves! They add an element of tastefulness to your attire for the Fall season.
Cool and Comfortable Shoes
A hot look off the runway from New York, Toronto and Paris, which I absolutely love, is wearing your latest midi dress with SNEAKERS! Who knew? You can be as comfortable as anything and run around with a pretty dress and comfortable shoes. There are so many varieties when it comes to sneakers. I love this look with high tops. These comfortable shoes look like booties but slip on easily and you can get most everything done during the day with these babies on!
Combat boots take this look to the next level. They look edgy and can have a slight heel so it elevates the look and it takes your dress a few notches above casual.
Opt for white or black booties for your midi dresses, and you are ready to go day or night.
If you are going for an elegant look go for a layered or silky dress with an A-line silhouette. This style will accentuate your frame and look elegant for your evening look. Try this look on with simple sexy heel to give you some height and drama.
Cooler Weather Toppers
I wear my midi dresses with a cropped leather or denim jacket, cozy cropped knit or my newest look (pictured above) a varsity jacket. Any of these toppers work and keep you warm in the cooler temperatures. If you are combing through options in your closet, you will notice that you can create any of the looks with the pieces you already have. Again, if you are petite, go for a cropped topper to help balance the look. You want your look to accentuate the smallest part of your body for example your waist.
