However, if you do want to make them eat their words, then make sure that you have a copy of your credentials with you at all times. This way, you can just get it out, read off it, hand it to them or however you want to show them that they don’t know what they are talking about.

They will be forced to eat their words when you produce this information, and they will feel embarrassed because it means it clearly isn’t the first time that you have been asked.
